Helical Tieback AnchorsHelical tiebacks are a pre-engineered system for earth retention applications. The success of the helical anchor tieback system is based on decades of similar use of anchors by electric utilities. The proven reliability and engineered predictability of these tiebacks produce an earth-retention system that is efficient, economical and hassle-free. Tiebacks are installed by rotating the anchor into the ground with common rotary drilling equipment. Once the minimum depth is obtained, the capacity can be determined by reading the installing torque and correlating it with the holding capacity ratio. Capacities up to 200,000 pounds per anchor are obtainable with this capable system. Proven on hundreds of applications, these cost-effective tiebacks can be tested immediately, eliminating the need to wait for the concrete to cure. As a result, money is saved and project schedules are significantly reduced. ADVANTAGES OF THE HELICAL TIEBACK SYSTEM:
Soil NailsSoils Nails, or in this case, the CHANCE® SOIL SCREW® Retention Wall System, reinforces the earth to construct gravity walls. In this “soil nail” application, a Chance screw anchor acts in a bearing mode compared to grouted anchor, which relies on friction. This gives the SOIL SCREW Retention Wall System economic advantages. Bearing plates are spaced along the entire length of the SOIL SCREW anchors, allowing for immediate loading as soon as they are installed.
Backhoes and skid-steer loaders can quickly rotate SOIL SCREW anchors into place. Anchor size and grid spacing are designed to local soil conditions and load requirements. A reinforced concrete veneer is often applied to the wall face. SOIL SCREW DOWNLOADSCASE STUDIES: |
